I have always found this word "mercy-killing" very funny....How can mercy and killing exist at the same time?I would rather call it simply,"killing" or provoked suicide".
My question is should euthanasia be made legal or not?
Well, one part of me stands for it and the other part stands against this so-called mercy-killing.
Sometimes it seems wise to let a terminally ill patient to take a physician's help to commit suicide. But than how to determine that the patient is asking for euthanasia, is because he is really going to die or only because he is depressed? Also how to determine whether a prospective heir hasn't driven his wealthy relative, who is terminally ill into going for euthanasia? Also is it ethically right for a doctor or a physician to practice euthanasia, as doctors are supposed to give life and not take it?
If we consider the religious aspect, how correct it is to free a person from his/her sufferings? Is it so easy for a person to kill or help in suicide of another person? Is it easy to see your friends, family members or any dear one going for euthanasia and you can't do anything but just be a mock spectator of it?
Its really difficult (or should i say impossible) for me to arrive at some algorithm which decides whether to approve or disapprove mercy-killing.....

Should Euthanasia or mercy-killing be made legal?

Wikipedia
There has been so great things happened in past... great inventions, discoveries... but the biggest thing is which comes to my mind is Internet... the Biggest knowledge bank...
I wonder how information used to travel in past when the internet wasnt there... during the time of Sir Issac Newton, or during the time of Shivaji? definitely not as fast as internet... and the reliability of information??? definitely not as high as wikipedia... ? an free web encyclopedia. Its a ocean, in which I love to dive in...
Be it anything... it answers mostly all of my questions... be it science or history or religion or anything else.... hats off to you wiki guys...
but how much can these wikipedia guys or any other data sources help us??? are we prepared to take the truth??? are we having that level of maturity where we can accept the truth as it is??? take the case of religion, what happened to Galileo Galilei in 17th Century when he went against the church???
Religion!!! - is it abt GOD??? or Discrimination ???
Religion, what is it? and why is it? what it aims and what it pretends to aim?????
Are all religious person believers of god, are all believers of god need to be associated with some religion???
well talking about few major religions of god, (the topic here goes new level, all readers are free to give their comments)
Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism...
Its so interesting reading about religion, and there are things which people say and things that are actually observed. I would call it, (religion) can be a biggest ground of discrimination. Discrimination and comparison is the inherent quality of humans...
Mostly all western religions says, all that is not religious is bad.
Christians believes Jesus came for some selected people, and they are those lucky, selected people. Indeed all new entrants will feel so good about it.
Adam and eve ate forbidden fruit, they did sin and so that sin makes all of us sin... and those who are not follower of their religion wont get salvation...
The driving force is "FEAR".
I dont know why "Fear" and not "Love" is the driving here. As in Hinduism or Vedanta...
Hinduism frankly cant be called a religion, its much bigger than that. A person can be atheist or monotheist or polytheist he will still be a Hindu... a non believer of god, but science is also a hindu. but to agree to this we need to know what this complex religion is ??? how people in indian sub continent some 3500-5500 yrs ago lived. till date the most sophisticated civilization, Indus valley civilization is still mystery.
Well forget all, talking about science,
I always feel so strange, my heart feel heavy and confused, when I see the inventions/discoveries made by Hinduism. This 3500yrs old religion knew planets we have in our solar system. The number system was developed by them, even the Fibonacci series were developed by them...
for a Atheist who wants to learn science and not about god, Hinduism will give the core text of mathematics, medicine, spirituality, physics... (Yoga , Ayurvedas, Meditation or life style... )
I see, "god sees no differences, and I am dearer to him to the same level as any other person."
I dont FEAR god, but i LOVE him...
the connection I (or anybody else) shares is personal and not communal. Groupism only discriminates... what and how to connect to god is what I decide and not anybody else...
Knowledge - Information...
"Life is transformation of energy from one for to another." - A macro scientific opinion may sound absurd by majority of us, but its true when you see things at highest macro level (universe) level.
But what about economy, politics, humanity, culture and man kind????
Is it way of just engaging ourselves, keeping our mind away from the reality? then again to answer this we need to define what reality is???
and a diplomatic answer for all above will be, It depends!!!
Everybody defines reality as his own comfort. For a Mathematician its numbers... real number or imaginary numbers... a economist who believes supply and demand has relation with price of the product, a religious person might call worshiping god is reality.
I say, why to restrict ourselves... lets see from all perspective... limit urself to unlimitedness...
Life if just seen from one perspective, then also you will be happy... but the trill is challenge yourself, challenge your thoughts... seek more and more knowledge...
